Fish Native to Eagle Lake

There are actually five species of fish in Eagle Lake. They are: Tahoe Sucker, Tui Chub, Lahontan Redside, Speckled Dace, and the prized Rainbow Trout (Eagle Lake Species). The California Dept. of Fish and Game stocks approximately 150,000 fish each year into the lake. Of course Rich is going to show you exactly how and where to catch the big ones..

Tagged Trout The BIG one! 7lbs 2oz

A few of the trout planted in Eagle Lake have been tagged below the dorsal fin with a small green plastic tag. Anglers should return all tags taken to the Dept. of Fish and Game in Redding with the following information: (1) name and address (2) date caught (3) location caught (4) length to fork in tail. Anglers will have the tags returned as a souvenir along with a stocking history of the fish.

There are several campgrounds and beaches near the lake
Spaulding Tract (town) has a small airstrip
