Here are some child friendly recipes....the first is for the ever-popular play dough but
all others are for edibles! If you have any recipes to add please e-mail them to me!


PLAY DOUGH

Ingredients:

1 cup flour
½ cup salt
¼ cup water
½ tsp vinegar
food coloring

Mix flour and salt. Add water, vinegar and drop of food coloring (use a very
small amount of food coloring or none at all). Knead together. Store in a sealed
container in the refrigerator. Remember to let it warm to close to room temperature
before using. Make sure dough is returned to the refridgerator withing a couple of
hours or it dries!

 

CHEERIO SNACK MIX

4 cups Cheerios
1 cup raisins
1 cup salted peanuts
¼ cup margarine/ butter
1 package (6 ounce) semisweet chocolate chips

Mix Cheerios, raisins, and peanuts in large bowl; set aside.  Melt butter/margarine over low
heat.  Pour margarine/butter over Cheerio mixture and toss till thoroughly coated.   Sprinkle
chocolate chips over cereal mixture and toss again.  Store in sealed container. (remember to
leave out peanuts for small children.)

 

FRUIT DIP

Mix 1 cup fruit yogurt and 2 tbsp of brown sugar.  Dip fruit wedges.

 

FROZEN BANANAS

2 large bananas
½ cup fruit yogurt
small bottle of decorative sprinkles

Peel then cut bananas in half. Place wooden stick in the end of each banana piece.  Roll
each banana in yogurt then roll in sprinkles.  Put on tray covered with wax paper and freeze
for several hours. 

 

CARAMEL CORN

12 cups popped popcorn
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick margarine/butter
¼ cup light corn syrup
½ tsp baking soda

Preheat oven to 200º.  Divide popcorn between two large oven-safe pans.  Heat brown sugar,
butter, and corn syrup over low heat till gently boiling. Stir mixture often.  Cook over for about
five minutes.  Remove from heat then stir in baking soda until it foams.  Pour equal amounts of
mixture over each pan of popcorn  and toss till well coated.  Bake for one hour; stirring often.
Let cool before eating.
